Not digital works, but real light structures that contaminate these old abandoned Orthodox churches in Russia.
This is the intervention of Danila Tkachenko, a visual artist based in Moscow who worked on the existing with contemporary forms and paradigms. It is a concrete intervention that also considers spaces and surfaces, freeing itself from digital “fiction”.
“The structures, all abandoned in 1917 following the Russian Revolution, were adorned with striking modernist elements which, although visually powerful, can be dismantled following the project’s completion with no effect on the landmarks.”
