Who are the top architecture firms in Italy? Which are the most important studios operating in the country and around the world? In this post, we will explore a list – continuously updated and expanded – that gathers some of the main design studios in Italy. We will not only refer to the well-known “Archistars” but also to smaller, younger studios that already have many stories to tell.
It’s often said that Italy is not a country for architects, or if it is, they are all underpaid. However, like in every sector, there are those who just complain and criticize and those who, through considerable effort, manage every day to produce and export the value of Italian design (understood as design value) worldwide.
In doing so, many of these Italian architects have started in recent years to engage in a healthy and consistent communication activity. All the data from this activity will soon be available in the “Architects on Socials” report, soon to be published on Marketing for Architects.
Returning to the list of main Italian architects, below I will list all the major design studios located in our territory. As you scroll through the list, divided by geographical areas and cities, you will see that in this sometimes contradictory and challenging landscape, there are incredibly strong realities capable of creating projects, value, culture, and spreading Italian design worldwide.
Keep in mind that this selection (completely independent and without specific criteria) is far from exhaustive, of course. Useful contacts for the main Italian architects
Many of these studios have more than one branch, but for organizational convenience, they have been divided by city. This division was made considering the main office, which almost always corresponds to the studio’s first office opened. Therefore, keep in mind that the same studio may be present in several Italian cities, as well as in other cities abroad.
