This is what happens after the Architectural Apocalypse

Ukrainian artists Vitality and Elena Vasilieva have built these scenarios and photographed these unreal situations that speak about a post-modern future, predicting an architectural apocalypse.

The project takes into consideration five pieces of great architectures, five icons of the history of architecture, designed by five teachers of all the times: Frank Lloyd Wright, Oscar Niemeyer, Renzo Piano and Kazuyo Sejima and Herzog & De Meuron.

Does their work mean something ? Could this be interpreted as a warning for the crisis of values which some architecture is going through nowadays?

Interpret it as you wish, but the authors had in mind a well defined thought:

“Today we are witnessing the collapse of the basic cultural patterns and mechanisms that shaped civilization over the last century. Spirit of apocalypses holds sway over modern culture and slowly infecting everything around. We have to be objective and accept that old institutes and cultural models are being destroyed by new, still not quite clear, but obviously other worlds” comment Vitality and Elena Vasilieva.
