Green waves and public space

In Zhengzhou City, China, Shma Company Limited‘s project at the Le Meridien Hotel has transformed a 6,000 square meter area in front of an existing five-star hotel. The goal was to enhance the overall appearance of the site and address parking and vehicular traffic challenges.

Drawing inspiration from Zhengzhou’s historical textile industry, the landscape features undulating waves of grass that evoke the traditional silk weaving process. The integration with the existing architecture is evident, as the landscape seamlessly blends with the architectural elements.

A key feature is the water element, accompanied by a sculpture, positioned in front of the main entrance, creating a remarkable welcome.

The use of different materials for the stainless steel elements plays with the hotel’s public and private atmosphere, with brilliant colors and reflections that change depending on the perspective.
