Not far from the heart of Rome, between the Flaminio district and the Olympic Village, lies the Auditorium Parco della Musica, a multifunctional complex designed by Renzo Piano Building Workshop and completed in 2002.
Renzo Piano conceived the Auditorium as a meeting and cultural exchange place, a true “music park” capable of hosting a wide range of events, from symphony concerts to jazz festivals, conferences, and exhibitions. The structure consists of three main halls, each of different sizes and with a specific purpose: the Sala Santa Cecilia, the Sala Sinopoli, and the Sala Petrassi.
The aesthetics of the Auditorium are characterized by a sober yet sophisticated architectural language, where the functionality of the spaces seamlessly integrates with attention to detail and materials. The three halls, which emerge like large carapaces from the surrounding environment, are clad in brick and copper, materials that harmonize perfectly with the Roman context.
