Foster + Partners proposed plans for the world first Drone airport – it will be built in Rwanda by 2016.

Why have you to put Drones in Africa? Because transportation is very difficult in this area, in fact it is also called the “land of a thousand hills.” To provide a more safe and quick assistance to everyone who needs help or something else, the local govern thought that innovation could also bring an improvement for people’s life. So, the “drone port” will carry first of all emergency medical supplies to rural areas.

Around this construction there will also be a health clinic, a center for designing more drones, and a Postal office. We hope that this project will drive a significant step forward in the developing process of this territory and that this first step can be a model for more and more activities like this.
