Named “Spark Pavilion,” this small red pavilion is located in the urban center of Yuan Fen village in China, designed by ATMOperation studio.
It is a semi-permeable structure that inevitably brings to mind the punctual interventions of Bernard Tschumi in Parc de la Villette in Paris, yet it manages to renew and adapt itself on a different scale and for different purposes.
Specifically, this small piece of architecture serves the community by focusing on sports, and the space is divided into three main areas: a street basketball court, a covered trapezoidal corridor, and a tiered seating system.
